Embracing the Past, Shaping the Future: Moncler Re/Icons Unveiled

Revisiting Iconic Silhouettes: The Fall 2026 Re/Icons Collection

Moncler introduces its newest Re/Icons collection for Fall 2026, breathing new life into four foundational jacket styles: the Karakorum, Verone, Himalaya, and Tibb. Each piece has undergone a meticulous reinterpretation, incorporating modern materials, refined proportions, and updated details. This marks a significant evolution for Re/Icons, as it broadens its scope beyond outerwear to include a full range of complementary apparel, such as windbreakers, T-shirts, trousers, skirts, and various accessories.

Connecting with Authenticity: Remo Ruffini's Vision for Moncler's Heritage

Remo Ruffini, Moncler's Chairman and CEO, emphasizes the importance of staying connected to the brand's foundational principles while continuously looking forward. He highlights Moncler's origins with adventurous pioneers like Lionel Terray and Achille Compagnoni, individuals who pushed boundaries. This pioneering spirit, Ruffini notes, provides the brand with its inherent authenticity and credibility, which the Re/Icons project aims to translate into contemporary fashion.

From Alpine Peaks to Urban Streets: Moncler's Enduring Legacy

Moncler's journey began in 1952 in the French Alps, initially crafting tents and sleeping bags. The creation of the down jacket was inspired by mountaineer Lionel Terray's discovery of warm, lightweight feather-filled garments. The brand quickly became synonymous with high-altitude exploration, outfitting expeditions such as the first successful ascent of K2 in 1954. Later, Moncler's influence extended to European ski culture, notably dressing the French team for the 1968 Winter Olympics.

The Evolution of an Icon: From Mountaineering to Streetwear Staple

By the 1980s, Moncler's puffer jackets transcended their mountain origins, becoming a fashion statement among Milan's Paninari youth movement. This shift foreshadowed Moncler's subsequent widespread adoption in street fashion, marking its transformation into a major global brand in the 21st century.

A Collection Rooted in History: Details of the Re/Icons Release

The Re/Icons collection intricately weaves Moncler's rich history into its designs. The Karakorum jacket, inspired by the 1954 K2 expedition, is now crafted from modern 10-denier micro-ripstop. The Verone, a personal favorite, revives the Paninari style of the 1980s. The Tibb reworks an '80s sleeveless gilet, reminiscent of Marty McFly's iconic look. The Himalaya harks back to a 2009 design that later inspired the Moncler Maya. The collection will be showcased in Paris at Il Rifugio, a newly renovated private venue within Moncler’s Champs-Élysées store, with pre-launches in Paris on October 8, followed by pop-ups in Tokyo and New York, before its global release on October 15 in select Moncler stores and online.
